East Lake, Florida

East Lake occupies a distinctive part of northern Pinellas County, with a largely residential character surrounded by lakes, preserves, golf communities, and natural areas. Located east of Palm Harbor and southeast of Tarpon Springs, the community provides a quieter setting while remaining convenient to both the Gulf Coast and the larger Tampa Bay area.

Much of East Lake’s identity is tied to the outdoors. Lake Tarpon, one of the largest freshwater lakes in the region, forms an important part of the area’s western landscape and is popular for boating and fishing. Nearby natural areas, including Brooker Creek Preserve, protect thousands of acres of wetlands and native Florida habitat while offering trails and opportunities to experience a very different side of Pinellas County.

East Lake also includes established residential communities and golf-course neighborhoods, with East Lake Road serving as a primary north-south route through the area. From here, residents have convenient access west toward Palm Harbor and north toward Tarpon Springs, while connections to the south lead toward Clearwater and the rest of Pinellas County.

For East Lake residents looking for casual clothing with a little more personality, Cottonseed Casual Wear’s original Tarpon Springs store is just a short trip away at the historic Sponge Docks. Since 1987, Cottonseed has welcomed Florida residents and visitors with comfortable men’s and women’s apparel, colorful designs, and tropical styles that feel right at home in this part of Florida.

Comfortable, Colorful & Easy to Wear

Since opening at the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks in 1987, Cottonseed Casual Wear has built its selection around clothing that works particularly well for Florida—comfortable fabrics, relaxed fits, colorful designs, and casual styles that can be worn throughout the day.

For this page, the spotlight is on comfortable everyday clothing and casual layers. Women can find colorful Jess N Jane tops, dresses, lightweight separates, and hoodies that provide an extra layer for cooler mornings, air-conditioned restaurants, travel, or those occasional Florida days when temperatures actually cooperate.

Men can explore casual shirts and warm-weather apparel along with Bamboo Cay, whose island-inspired shirts bring tropical patterns and embroidered details to a comfortable, easy-to-wear style. It’s clothing that can transition easily from an afternoon around town to dinner or a casual evening with friends.

Cottonseed’s original Sponge Docks location remains the closest of its two stores for East Lake shoppers. A second Cottonseed Casual Wear location is now open on Corey Avenue in St. Pete Beach, extending the Cottonseed tradition to southern Pinellas County.
